In 1881 living in a cottage in East Village with his family where he is described as a cordwainer. In 1891 he is boarding with Frederick Smale, former nextdoor neighbour, and son of a master builder. Albert is now described as a painter. In 1901 he is living with his family at Dobrake House, described as a journeyman carpenter.He is a neighbour to the Smales and his stepmother and brothers.
In 1911 Albert and Mary Ann are at East Village with Alice May, and Walter, aged 4.
In 1912 and 1915 Albert is registered as a voter in East Village, in part of Prowse. By 1918 he is at Lillybrook. Mary Ann is also eligible then.
In 1839 Albert and Mary Ann are living at Whitrows
Her brother Henry (Harry) aged 22 is visiting at the 1901 census. He is a general labourer.
