His mother Emma married Thomas Sharland later that year. In the absence of a birth certificate it is assumed that Thomas was the father.

 

In 1891 aged 10 he is recorded in the name of Sharland and lives in the family household.

 

His marriage to Maude Andrews is in the name of Milford. Marriage registered Tiverton March Q 1899 GRO Ref 5b 671

 

In 1901 George is residing at Traces in Knowlestone with his wife and 2 yr old son. PRO Ref: RG13/2139 Folio 50 Page 5
