Note on Wife: Ellen SHARLAND - shared note

Date of birth and date of death provided by Sharland Stephenson & supported by Richard Ramsdell.

Ellen was in the family home in 1861 and 1871 but here her whereabouts is unknown in 1881, She could be the 24 yr old servant in Sandford but her place of birth is given as Bridgewater, Somerset.

The US Federal census of 1900 shows Ellen arrived as an Immigrant in 1885 but no passenger record found as yet. It also indicates she has been married for 11 years without children at the time the census was undertaken on 20th June 1900. ALSO NO marriage found but I have only had online records to search.

The census of 1920 shows Ellen (Nellie) and her husband John living in Elizabeth Street, Stockbridge, Ingham, Michigan. Ellen is running a boarding house whilst her husband is the propietor of a Feed barn.
