Note on Husband: John GORWYN

In the mid 1700s John began calling himself John Gorwyn alias Lambert or John Lambert alias Gorwyn, This was probably to reinforce connections to the estate of that name, though he never held any title to it. They lived at Bradleigh, and also continued to rent the small farm of Spirelake in Cheriton Bishop from the Fulford family, the leasehold of which had been in the Gorwyn family since the mid 1600s. John purchased the freehold in 1768 and it stayed in the family until the death of Arthur Lambert-Gorwyn of Coxland in 1952
