Note on Marriage

Witnessed byThomas Dunn & Richard Bedford

Note on Husband: John Prawl

Took over his father's business at about the time of his marriage in 1774. His house and business premises were at Park Street Crediton, at its junction with Bowden Hill, owned by his wife's brother Thomas.

Between 1792 and 1806 at least there was a Heard amongst his workmen.

His will was proved 9th September 1822, by his three executors, - his children - Mary Prawl, Martha Berry - my g-g-g-grandmother, and Thomas Prawl of Maylebone, where he was a linen draper. He left everything to be divided between his three children - there was reference to a sum of £450. The will was witnessed by Richard Pinson and Thomas Dunn.

Note on Child 5: Thomas Prawl

In 1851 Thomas was in Bermondsey with niece Frances Shepherd born 1832 in Seven Oaks, Kent, and friend Frances Haydon b. 1763 in Carshalton, Surrey
