The vessel was described as an Armour Plated Screw Ship. In 1881 he is with his mother Ann at 47 Gloster Road, Horfield, Gloucester, a carpenter and joiner, as he is after his marriage to Elizabeth when we find him in 1891 at 84 Colston Street, Bristol. In 1901 he is a foreman joiner with his family at 25 Badminton Road, St Paul, Bristol.According to a message from Kent 212 on Ancestry, in 1908 they moved to Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, where they can be found on the 1911 census. John, Elizabeth, Albert, Elsie, Sydney and Eva can be found living together. They then moved to Burlington, Ontario, Canada where John died in 1945.
