Note on Husband: John Labbett
By 1841 they have moved to Woodland Head, near Yeoford.
In 1881 they are living in St Martin's Lane, Crediton. Grandaughter Hannah is staying with them at the time of the census
In 1891 John Labbett, described as retired farmer,gardener, is living with daughter Hannah and her husband at the Traveller's Friend, , Kings Langley, Hemel Hempstead, where William Turner is described as publican. John is by now widowed.

Note on Child 1: John Labbett
1871 at St Shepard, Devonport, Stoke Dameral, Hannah, born in Crediton, and John W. and Sarah J. both born in Devonport are with the family.
1881 at 35 Campbell Street, London, Middx in Paddington, near the Regents's canal. In the same house lives a Colourman Assistant(?), and his family, a warehouseman, a dressmaker and an ostler. (See Maria's notes re visitors) Son John W. and Sarah J. are living with John and Maria. John is a police constable. No occupation is given for Maria and the children. Daughter Hannah is staying with grandparents John and Hannah Labbet in St Martin'ds Lane, Crediton.
1891John and Maria have moved, but not far. They are still in Paddington, and John is still a police constable. They are now in 1 Adpar Chambers, adjoining Crompton Street, near the Edgware Rd, within a few hundred yards of their 1881 address. Son John William is still living with tyhem - he is single, and working as a licensed porter. There is a new addition to the family - son Walter H. born c.1889.
At 1901 census John and youngest son Walter are recorded as visitors at the residence of Sarah Jane and Charles Barker at St Pancras.4,6
Note on Child 2: William Labbett
In 1871 William is living with his parents at St Martin's Lane, Crediton
In 1881 He is in London, in "Kensington", today in the area of Westbourne Park, Kensal Green, certainly North Kensington, at 78 Southam Street, where he is living alongside the Great Western Railway line, and is a Farrier.
Other occupants of the house include carpenters, labourers, dress makers, cab drivers and their families from all over the country, including Samuel Luxton and his family, a carpenter and joiner also from Crediton.
In 1891 the family has moved to the other side of the GWR line to 214 Wornington Rd, still working as Smith Farrier. They have a visitor - Emily stevens age 14, and a boarder William Warwick, a 32 year old general labourer from Paddington. The house seems to hold only two more families.
