In 1829 William, son of Thomas and Ann is apprenticed to James Norrish, yeoman. In 1832, on the death of James Norrish William is apprenticed to his son James. Then in 1833 he is assigned from James Norrish to William Norrish, yeoman. William Norrish is farming at Dira.

By 1851 John has married a widow with 4 children and after a spell in Shobrooke, moved to East Street Newton Abbot where he has acquired a small holding. His brother Robert is living and working with him.

Note on Child 5: Eliza Wright

In 1851 and 1861 living with her mother, married, but no sign of a husband. Her address at her marriage is 9 Hills Court, Exeter. She is also descibed at various times as servant and dressmaker

 

In 1901 after Daniel's death she is living with three daughters at 6 The Green, working as Poulterer and Sub Post Mistress. In Kellys 1902 directory she is proprietor of the Post Office at 6 The Green.
