1851and1861 census census Sarah is an "annuitant" at Vicarage House Stokenham with son John. Grandson William is there too in 1851 - his parents are both dead by then. John is unmarried and described as landowner in 1861

After Katherine's death,William seems to be farming at Shute, Bishop's Teignton. William Jnr is being looked after in the village.His death is reported by Jane Vinal Walter, aged 19, who is present at the death. In 1851 she is a visitor at Woolsgrove, Bishopsteignton, the farm of James Cornish. She marries William Splatt in Bishopsteignton, and her married life seems to take her around the country, though she is staying with the Cornish family again in 1861. How did she come to be at the death of my g-g-grandfather? In 1891 Splatt is described as a Marine Surveyor
