In 1851 he was working for Wrights-bakers- who I have assumed are distant cousins of Eliza in Cathedral Close, Exeter. After 1858 he moved to London and spent the rest of his life in various addresses around Finsbury and Islington, working as a Baker. He was living with Sarah and they adopted a daughter at some time before 1891, but no other children were evident.
In 1861 he and Sarah were at 29 Trenchard Street, St Mary's Islington, Finsbury Borough. In 1871 at 75 William Street, Thornhill, Islington, with two nephews staying with them. In 1881 they were at 41 Twyford Street, Islington, In 1891 they were at 35 Mary Street, Thornhill, Islington. Peter had presumably retired, described as a Baker's Pensioner and Sarah was a Laundress Washerwoman. In 1901 he was a widower at 35 Story Street Islington
