A2AFILE - CREDITON - ref. Z1/10/226a-b - date: 8 January 1620 17 James I

item: [no title] - ref. Z1/10/226b [n.d.]

[from Scope and Content] A deed poll dated 1 Jan. 1619 [1619-20] whereby John Fey of Teignton Drew otherwyse Drewesteignton, son of John Fey late of Credyton, deceased, releases to John Tuckfeild of Credyton, gent. all his right to the messuage called Scorehill alias Scoreland in Credyton now in tenure of Luce Fey, widow, his mother.

This is interesting, as it links Feys to Drewsteignton, and to Crediton and Shobrooke (Tuckfields - rich woollen merchants of Shobrooke I think), and this becomes a much more promising source than Devonport. Looks to me that given the reference to John Fey of Crediton the family probably have been in that area for much longer than I realised.2
