Note on Husband: Richard WILLING

In 1841 Richard was a Male Servant at Washbrook Mill, Dodbrooke, where a Philip Hingston (Jane's family) was miller. Richard and Susanna appeared in the 1851 census when Richard was the miller at LurgeCoombe Mill, Ashburton, and they appeared in the Canadian census for 1851/52 in St Malachy, Beauharnois County, Canada East(Quebec) .Children Richard and Mary were with them in Canada.

In the 1861 Canada Census Richard was an inmate of the Kingston Penitentiary, in the census for Portsmouth Village, Frontenac County, Canada West. Portsmouth Village is now part of Kingston, which was the capital of Canada in 1861.

Richard was imprioned for arson. He committed his crime in Leeds and Grenville, a county adjoining Frontenac.7
