Cause: Gun shot wound There was an inquest that found that Nicholas had died accidentally. There was no evidence that he had been disturbed or depressed. Nonetheless he had somehow managed to blow his brains out with a shotgun. The suggestion was that he had slipped on the porch step with the loaded gun in his hand. However immediately following the incident it was widely reported as suicide |
