| Crediton Petty Sessions. For being drunk the night before and held in the cells, Mother (held all night) Charlotte Harris and daughter (bailed by her husband) Charlotte Hatting were charged with being drunk. They both expressed their sorrow at being in their present position. The mother said she went the day before to sign the pledge but the woman who kept the book was not at home. On account of previous convictions Harris was fined 10s and costs; Hatting 2s 6d and costs. The money was paid by the husbands. -- Defendants left the court surrounded by women persuading them to drink no more. | ||
