2 June 1906 Lucy Heard was the subject of a removal order from the West Ham Union Lunatic Asylum at Chadwell Heath, where she was described as a pauper lunatic, to her proper residence of the parish of Bromley St Leonard, in Poplar. Presumably to the Union Lunatic Asylum of Poplar. A note attached to her file states that her husband was residing at 24 Liverpool Road, Canning Town,on 6 June 1906. But in fact Lucy was not actually married to Thomas at that time. He had been living with his parents in Canning Town in 1901.
