| At aged 24. She made fraudulent entries of deposits in her PO Savings Book, then drew out the money that she did not have. When the crime was discovered she tried to make amends by repaying some of the money and asking to be let off the charge. She was taken to court and found guilty of obtaining from HM Postmaster General the sum of £1 10s by virtue of a forged Post Office Savings Bank deposit book. She had to pay costs of £5 4s 5d, and was given 3 months to pay. She was sentenced to one year's probation. | ||
