William Strang was the oldest son of the Mr. Peter Strang Jr. and Janet Denny family. He married Miss Agnes McSymon Rogerson. William became a well known artist, his paintings and other works can be found in the Tate Gallery, The British Museum, The National Portrait Gallery of Glasgow, and other Provincial Galleries, also in Colonial and Foreign Galleries. A number of portrait drawings of famous contemporary men were commissioned for the Royal Library at Windsor Castle. Glasgow University conferred on him the honorary degree of L. L. D. for his distinguished work. He died April 12 1921. His estate went to his wife Agnes, in the sum of £5219 6s and 6d. William and Agnes were living at #7 Hamilton Terrace Middlesex, London, England, and Agnes continued to live there until her death Dec 17 1933, Probate in London Feb 15, her effects totalled £9023 12s 2d, to the Commercial Bank of Scotland Ltd. and David Rogerson Strang, Printer of etchings, son.
