| His first period of RM service was at the Recruit Depot at Deal, where he served from January 1921 to November 1921. He was then transferred to Plymouth which was his homw base for the remainder of his Royal Marine career. He served on HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Valiant, HMS Erebus, HMS Eagle, HMS Diomede, HMS Caledonia, HMS Furious and HMS Illustrious during his long career. He was re-engaed on 15 July 1932 and again on 17 January 1942. |
