Individual Note
In 1861 Alice Sharland is being looked after by Thomas and Grace (nee Bradford) Bristol in Witheridge, three dwellings away from Mum Maria who is in service for the Partridges, as cook. In 1871 she is with Maria and stepfather James Snell and the family. In 1881 and in 1891 she herself, as Alice Snell is working as a cook for Thomas Bennett at Morchard Bishop.
