| Cause: Accidental drowning Address: Middlecott According to the MI he was drowned at Middlecott, Morchard Bishop. From the Exeter and Plymouth Gazette, 1 June 1894. "MORCHARD BISHOP A schoolboy, 10 years of age, named Ernest Heard, son of Mr. Henry Heard, dairyman, of Middlecott, was accidentally drowned in a quarry pit on Tuesday evening. It appears he was fetching water from this pit at 9 p.m. for domestic use, and by some means fell in, and when discovered by his parents was struggling in the water. Though life was not quite extinct when taken out of the water he died shortly after." |
