10 Edmund Street Exeter Police Court. 24 Feb 1932 & 27 Feb 1932. Summoned by wife Alice for using threats of personal violence against her and her daughter. Pleaded Not Guilty and placed on remand. Bail refused. Chief Constable stated that Alice had a temper that would not bear too close an examination. Alice alleged that Walter had threatened to cut her throat and said to the children that he would do the same to them. Magistrates were satisfied that they were only threats. Alice admitted he had not physically assaulted her since he attacked her with a poker in 1928. The Chief Constable considered the man was "nagged". He was bound over for 2 years in sum of £10 |
