Cause: Accidental suffocation Inquest held at the Young Women's Club, Crediton. Coroner ruled Death by Accidental Suffocation. Alice alleged that Walter had threatened to cut her throat and said to the children that he would do the same to them. Magistrates were satisfied that they were only threats. Alice admitted he had not physically assaulted her since he attacked her with a poker in 1928. The Chief Constable considered the man was "nagged". He was bound over for 2 years in sum of £10 |

12 Mar 1904, Bowden Hill, Crediton. Frank Osborne's chimney caught fire, seen at 10.30pm. The Town Fire Brigade were summoned. The fire was pronounced extinguished at 11.30pm. A beam in the chimney had caught alight.
24 Aug 1904: Crediton Magistrates. Frank Osborne was summoned for non-payment of 3s 11d rates. Defendant who is a labourer pleaded for time to pay up. He was represented by his wife. Mr Pollard, the assistant overseer explained that thye defendant was 2½ years in arrears. Pleading poverty the wife said she would do her best to pay something.
13 Feb 1903. Crediton Magistrates. Frank Osborne was summoned for causing an obstruction by leaving his horse and waggon on the highway at Newton St Cyres on 28 January 1903. The case was dismissed.
