ACCIDENT
An unfortunate accident occurred on Sunday afternoon last [20 Sept 1925] to the recently-married couple Mr. And Mrs. Frederick A. Smith of High Street, Chasetoown, who were returning from Bournemouth. On reaching Steventon, between Oxford and Newbury, a car coming in the opposite direction skidded on the greasy road and crashed into the bonnet of the car belonging to Mr. And Mrs. Smith. As a result of the windscreen being smashed, Mrs. Smith suffered a rather nasty cut on the head, necessitating four stitches. Mr. Smith’s leg was jammed between the brake and the side of the car and was considerably bruised. Both are suffering from shock and bruises. They were conveyed home by the cars of their parents, who had been notified of accident by telephonic message.
