67 Mosedale Street, Camberwell SE Leslie was boarding with Albert and Rose Gray - a labourer, in Camberwell. The Grays have three grown up children with them, and another boarder, Robert Taylor, a labourer, as well as Leslie. He has wrongly recorded his place of birth as Devon, which suggests they spent some time there after the family returned from Australia. |

31 Oct 1916. Lewis's aunt Catherine Stuart wrote from her Blackpool address to the RFA for the second time requesting verification of the death of her nephew Mr. John Pitts who was killed at Mons. She said that at her first letter there had been a request for his brother Charles' address as he was the next of kin. She had assumed he would hear, but he had received nothing. In case they had mislaid that address she was sending it again, and stressed that she was anxious to have the matter settled.
