In 1851 Harry was with his parents and siblings at "Part of Pale", Sandford. In 1861 the family were in the Village, Sandford, next door to William Pickett. In 1871 he was a shop assistant working for woollen draper Joseph Butcher, in Maidstone, Kent at 48 Week Street'. Butcher and Dolby had been woollen merchants for at least 20 years, and William Butcher of Week Street was on the electoral roll of 1845.
In 1879 Harry emigrated to Australia. In 1879 Harry and Sarah Ann were divorced.
In May 1891 Harry attempted suicide by taking arsenite of copper in Glebe. He was bound over in his own recognizances in the sum of £40 to be of good behaviour for 12 months, on 12 June 1891.4
